Ecological Printing

  • Q: Do you use environmentally friendly inks?
Yes, Bag It Don't Bin It print eco-bags using high quality, water based inks, which are safe to use and are free from harmful chemicals. Our UK print facility uses an ISO 140001 Environmental Standard printing ink system. Unlike most other printers we do not use plastisol inks, which are PVC based and contain phalates that are destructive to the environment and people's health.
  • Q: What is the best number of colours to have?
An eco-bag presents you with a blank canvas to promote your brand. For maximum publicity you may prefer your eco-bag to be printed on both sides. A simple print is often the most effective, so we would advise you use a 1 or 2 colour print, depending on your design/logo specifications. The Bag It Don't Bin It print team can print up to 6 colours. No colour is more expensive than another. We have an excellent, Pantone referenced colour matching system so can print to any colour or shade.
  • Q: What is the maximum print size?
Bespoke eco-bags made at ethical sourced factories in India are printed before the bags are made up and therefore can have edge-to-edge print coverage. At our Sheffield eco-print facility, which produces bags for the Express Delivery Service, we print the bags after they have been made. Cotton/canvas eco bags have a maximum print area of 30cm x 26cm. The maximum print size for the Reinforced Jute Eco-Bag is 19 x 19cm.
  • Q: How should we supply our artwork?
We email an Electronic Artwork Guide on confirmation of order, which lets you know how to save and send your design to us. Most customers email their artwork as a PDF, Tiff or Jpeg file to size (but not over 10MB per email please!). There is a £28 Screen/Set Up Charge per image/colour for orders on the Express Service only and we keep customers images on screens for 3 months. There is no screen charge for orders produced on our Standard Service.
  • Q: Can you design or convert artwork for print?
Yes, we have our own in-house designer who works closely with our customers and our print team. Bag It Don't Bin It adapt your artwork to make it suitable for silkscreen printing. We can also design your artwork from scratch once you have given us your brief. We charge £40 per hour for our design service.
  • Q: How are eco-bags printed?
Eco-bags are screen printed with environmentally friendly inks. Bags produced on our Standard Service are hand-printed as fabric panels by skilled printers before being assembled into the bag style. At our Bag It Don't Bin It print facility in the UK eco-bags are printed to your requirements by our experienced print team. Bags are then quality checked and packed in recycled cartons before being sent to you.
