Plastic Bags can take 1,000 years to decompose

The change to "bags for life" began in 2007 when a few traders in Devon refused to give out

plastic bags. Their revolution has gone from strength to strength with many retailers no longer 

supplying plastic bags. Bags for life have come a long way and now for many it is not OK to walk

out of a supermarket with 10 carrier bags full of groceries, but rather to take along two or three

strong eco bags and re-use, re-use, re-use.

Julia, BIDBI's MD, has won a business trip to New York, sponsored by Santander Bank, as part of their Breakthrough programme, which supports fast growing businesses led by forward thinking entrepreneurs.  We have an increasing amount of business from the States and recently produced the Frieze New York Art Fair Bags as well as those for the Miami Art Basel Exhibition.  On this week's visit to the Big Apple, Julia will have a programme of specially tailored business meetings and will be introduced to the British Consulate.  It's all very exciting! 

Meet Team Bag It Don't Bin It, the people behind Doodle-Bag.  We're a motley crew from Sheffield, England where, in the heart of industrial Britain, we have created a creative, eco-print factory out of a disused steel plant.  We've taken several young people out of unemployment and trained them up to become Master Printers.  As such we have the fortune to print bags for the best of British brands as well as budding artists worldwide.  We love working with creative minds as well as corporate entities and hope that our commitment to doing our best brings you some wonderful bag-art.

We had the pleasure of printing some bags for a great local charity recently: S.H.A.R.E (Siberian Husky Aid Rescue & Education) and fell in love with one of their very friendly husky dogs when she came with the founder of S.H.A.R.E and Husky angel, Claire to pick up her bags.  Kinsey the Husky loved her freshly printed bags, which will help raise funds for her charity and help to increase its profile too.  Eco-Bags are a guaranteed fund-raiser and great way to get your get your charity on the map. 

Eco-Bags make an eye-catching shop window display.  We love the simple and colourful display that Filippetto's Italian Delicatessen has created from the bags we made for them featuring a cool illustration of their home made ice cream. 

Mel Revitt, our new Operations Manager, and Phil Newbury, our new Sales Coordinator, have joined our Operations Director, John Tann, to handle the smooth progression of your orders.  Phil and John are the points of contact once you have placed your order and Mel will be ensuring that production at our eco-print factory in Sheffield is running smoothly.

We were recently paid a visit by 15 very enthusiastic and artistic 6 year olds from a local school.  Armed with white T-shirts, a memory stick and bags of energy, they descended on our eco-print factory and printed their very own T-shirts as well as finding out all about how and why fair trade and sustainable business works and is worthwhile.
